Karlsruher SC have cancelled the contract of midfielder Justin Möbius, who has joined Regionalliga West side Preußen Münster.
The 23-year-old made just seven appearances for the club, none of which came last season.

Hrubesch in charge of HSV academy
Hamburger SV have surprisingly appoint former Horst Hrubesch as the new head of their youth academy.
Hrubesch, who worked with the DFB at various youth levels for almost two decades, won three Bundesliga titles and the European Cup with the club as a player.

Iuri Medeiros loan move completed
Iuri Medeiros has, as expected for some time, completed a loan move to SC Braga on loan from 1. FC Nürnberg.
The winger made just nine appearances for Der Club last season after signing from Sporting CP. Braga have a purchase option and he is not expected to return to Germany.

Bernard Tekpetey time in Düsseldorf ending
Fortuna Düsseldorf have released striker Bernard Tekpetey from club duties in order for the striker to find a new club.
Reports in Germany say he is set to cancel his loan from Schalke 04 and is likely to join Ludogorets on another loan deal. He had previously said he would “no longer play” under current Düsseldorf coach Uwe Rösler.

Steczyk to remain in Poland
1. FC Nürnberg have confirmed that young striker Dominik Steczyk has extended his loan with Polish side Piast Gliwice for another season.
The 21-year-old Pole made 21 appearances for the 2018-19 Ekstraklasa champions last season, but failed to score a goal.

Felix Drinkuth has joined 3. Liga side FSV Zwickau after his contract at SC Paderborn 07 was cancelled.
After being signed from Eintracht Norderstedt in early 2019, he had loan spells with Lotte and Halle, never playing for Stefan Baumgart’s side.

Sessa leaves Aue for Kaiserslautern
FC Erzgebirge Aue midfielder Nicolas Sessa has left the club to join 3. Liga giants Kaiserslautern on a free transfer.
His contract in Aue was terminated by “mutual consent” on Friday to facilitate the move. He leaves after just one season, having made only two brief appearances.

Petrák leaves Nürnberg for good
1. FC Nürnberg midfielder Ondřej Petrák has left the club after six-and-a-half years to join Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava.
The former Czech international had spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated Dynamo Dresden.
He will come up against former Dresden teammate Jannik Müller as well as ex-Wiesbaden midfielder Sidney Friede in the Slovak Fortuna League, with both recently joining DAC Dunajská Streda.

St. Pauli confirm new assistant coach
FC St. Pauli have appointed 27-year-old Loïc Favé as Timo Schultz’s new first team assistant coach.
Favé, who was previously with ETV Hamburg, has signed a two-year contract.

Fixture release date confirmed
The DFL have confirmed that the fixtures for the 2020-21 season will be released on the 7th August, in just over two weeks time.
The season is expected to start on the 18th September, with the DFB-Pokal first round taking place the week before. The draw for that is this Sunday.

Karlsruher SC have confirmed that Damian Roßbach, who was out of contract, has left the club, opting to join 3. Liga side Hansa Rostock.
The 27-year-old leaves the Wildparkstadion after two years, and has signed a two-year deal with the Nordsee club.

Ewerton has benign tumour removed
Hamburger SV have confirmed that defender Ewerton has has a benign tumour removed from a left hamstring muscle.
The surgery took place last week and the player hopes the tumour was the cause of his persistent thigh problems in the season just gone. He must rest for two weeks before returning to training.

St. Pauli confirm Hain stay
As expected, FC St. Pauli have extended the contract of goalkeeping coach Mathias Hain, who will now remain with the club until 2022.
The club’s former goalkeeper, who was a teammate of new head coach Timo Schultz, has been in the role since retiring from playing in 2011.

Baumgartner leaves Bochum permanently
VfL Bochum defender Dominik Buamgartner will join Wolfsberger AC on a permanent basis when the Austrian transfer window opens at the end of the month.
The 23-year-old, who Bochum had signed in early 2019, had spent last season on loan with the Austrian Bundesliga side. He has now signed a two-year contract there, with an option for a further year.

SC Paderborn 07 confirmed on Thursday that Marcel Hilßner has joined Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.
Hilßner had joined Paderborn from Hansa Rostock last year but only played for their under-23 team before a loan move to Halle in January.

Kiel extend Weiner contract before loan move
Holstein Kiel have announced that Timon Weiner has extended his contract with the club by two years to 2023, but he will spend the next couple of seasons on loan with Magdeburg.
The 21-year-old is yet to play with the Storks with his chances further reduced by the arrival of Thomas Dähne. He will now hope for match practice with the 3. Liga club.

FC St. Pauli have confirmed that three members of their coaching team have left the club, following the appointment of Timo Schultz as head coach.
The long-standing pair of assistants André Trulsen and Markus Gellhaus have departed, as has opposition analyst Hans Schrijver. Goalkeeping coach Mathias Hain is in talks over a contract extension.

Darmstadt keeper moves to Kaiserslautern
SV Darmstadt 98 goalkeeper Carl Leonhard has confirmed via his Instagram account that he is to join 1. FC Kaiserslautern following the end of his contract with the Lilies.
The 19-year-old, who never made a first team appearance for Darmstadt, will initially play for the Red Devils’ under-21 side in the fifth-tier Oberliga, according to Kicker.

Augsburg snap up 2. Liga coaches
Bundesliga side Augsburg have turned to the 2. Bundesliga for two new additions to Heiko Herrlich’s coaching staff.
He will be assisted by Iraklis Metaxas, who was previously assistant coach to Dimitrios Grammozis at SV Darmstadt 98.
Meanwhile Kristián Barbuščák has left SSV Jahn Regensburg to join die Fuggerstädter as their new goalkeeping coach.

Start date for 2020-21 confirmed
The DFL have confirmed the dates for the 2020-21. The 2. Bundesliga will begin in the weekend of 18th September, following the first round of the DFB-Pokal the previous weekend. The clubs are believed to have voted against an earlier start.
With UEFA competitions hogging midweek dates in the autumn, there will be virtually no winter break with the league resuming on the 2nd January 2021 after just one weekend off over Christmas. The season will conclude on the 23rd May.

Neumann returns to Würzburg
Würzburger Kickers have confirmed that former captain Sebastian Neumann has returned to the club to take an internship in the youth performance centre.
The 29-year-old, who had been playing with Duisburg, was forced to announce his retirement earlier in the year due to a persistent hip injury. He played for Würzburg between 2016 and 2018, including their previous spell in the 2. Bundesliga.

Düsseldorf hopes for Gießelmann return ended
Niko Gießelmann will not be playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf next season, with the left-back signing with Bundesliga side Union Berlin.
There had been some hopes that he would remain with Fortuna following their relegation, but he has now become Union’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Sebastian Griesbeck from Heidenheim on Wednesday.

Stephan Fürstner has left promoted Eintracht Braunschweig to join 1. FSV Mainz II, the club confirmed on Monday.
The 32-year-old, who had joined Brauschweig from 1. FC Union Berlin following their relegation to the 3. Liga in 2018, could only play eight times this season due to injuries.

FC St. Pauli defender Park Yi-young will join 3. Liga new boys Türkgücü München for the new season on a season-long loan.
The 26-year-old made just one appearance for the club last season – in the opening game – before suffering a shoulder injury. He played no further role under now ex-coach Jos Luhukay following his recovery.

Loan players leave Hamburg
Hamburger SV have confirmed their five loan players have left the club following the expiration of their loans and the club’s failure to win promotion to the Bundesliga once again.
Adrian Fein and Martin Harnik, who joined in the summer, plus winter signings Jordan Beyer, Louis Schaub and Joel Pohjanpalo all return to their parent clubs. HSV have not ruled out some of the quintet returning next sesason, although in most cases it is probably unlikely.

August start possible for 2. Bundesliga
The DFL have provided an update on planning for the 2020-21 season. They admit that “there are numerous aspects to consider” but have indicated the 2. Bundesliga season could start earlier than anticipated.
A start date of 28 August is being considered, with an additional round of matches during the international break – which would be a problem for clubs with international players – before the Bundesliga starts the weekend after. A shorter winter break is also a strong possibility.

Lars Holtkamp signs professional contract
VfL Bochum have confirmed that 18-year-old midfielder Lars Holtkamp has signed his first professsional contract with the club.
He has signed a two-year deal after impressing for the U19s and in training with the first team. He was in the squad for the last six 2. Bundesliga games of the season without being used.
