Maximilian Dittgen the latest addition for St. Pauli

FC St. Pauli have signed winger Maximilian Dittgen, who was most recently with SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

He is the second player to make the move this season, with Daniel-Kofi Kyereh having joined the Kiezkicker from Wiesbaden last week.

Both had left the relegated side at the end of last season. Dittgen has signed a two-year contract at the Millerntor.

Dittgen had spent three years with Wiesbaden – the first on loan from Kaiserslautern. He made 84 appearances inn total, with 32 of those coming in the 2. Bundesliga last season. Three of his four goals for the club also came last season, with 15 assists over his time there.

Sporting director Andreas Bornemann says that Dittgen “has continued to develop in recent years,” and “can take the next step of his development” at St. Pauli. Head coach Timo Schultz believes his pace “fits in very well with our style of play.”

Dittgen says “it was not difficult” for the club to convince him to make the move. “I am really looking forward to the Millerntor and the positively crazy fans,” he adds.

In addition to Kyereh, the club have also signed Leart Paqarada and Dennis Smarsch over the past week, after a slow start to the transfer window for the cult club.
